ALGODON WINES RANK AMONG THE TOP 100 WINES OF THE WORLD 2014
Algodon Wine’s 2010 Bonarda and 2009 Malbec/Bonarda blend have ranked among the World Association of Wine & Spirit Writers’ and Journalists’ (WAWWJ®) Top 100 Wines of the World 2014. WAWWJ annually recognizes excellence by tallying the cumulative scoring of individual wines & spirits throughout the year’s most highly regarded global wine tasting competitions.
We are very pleased to see that Algodon Wine Estate’s Bonarda has scored among the top 100. But perhaps more importantly, we are thrilled that Algodon’s 2010 Bonarda is the world’s best performing Bonarda, based on awards received at 75 international wine shows in 2013. We are also grateful that this stellar achievement for our wine has inspired further recognition of San Rafael, Mendoza, as the Bonarda capital of the world. Congratulations to our wine team: Jorge (Coco) Arenas, Mauro Nosenzo, Marcelo Pelleriti, and Anthony Foster, Master of Wine. Great job on continuing to improve our vineyards and wines, and on guiding our winery to new heights!
Algodon Wine Estates represents the only Bonarda varietal, which ranks 12th, and the only Malbec/Bonarda blend, which ranks 49th, to be recognized on this year’s list of the Top 100 Wines of the World.
